OSHA joins the National Safety Council (NSC) and thousands of organizations across the country in recognizing June as National Safety Month.
As part of an effort to emphasize the importance of safety both on and off the job, NSC's SafeForLife campaign highlights the leading causes of injury and death at work, on the roads, and in our homes and communities.
The NSC’s SafeForLife website provides workers with the opportunity to take a pledge to be safe at work. The NSC encourages the pledge to be displayed or shared by email, company newsletter, or posting it on company intranet sites.
The website also offers downloadable materials including posters, tips sheets, and games. It also has a video, infographic, and webinar taking place on June 14. A new NSC Safety Checkup web app provides a custom report on your specific safety risks.
According to the NSC, every seven seconds a worker is injured on the job. Furthermore, nearly 13,000 American workers are injured each day — and each injury is preventable.
